Hello and welcome to my blog. I hope you've been fine and you're enjoying the last days of this quarter.
A quick encouragement: whatever you didn't achieve this quarter can still be achieved. Stay committed and dedicated, keep your eyes on your goals and guard your heart against pressure. Amen?
About today's post: how else should we end this beautiful month of March, if not by talking about women, again?
Plus today is Wednesday and Wednesdays are for women.
If you know anything about me, you'll know I love women. Women inspire and influence me greatly. For every male teacher I have, I have like five female teachers in that same industry or sector.
I'm just naturally attracted to women who are not ashamed to get their hands dirty with purpose. There's a way they give others permission to be better and do better by just being themselves.
I strongly believe you can be a woman and have it all: blissful family, great career, thriving businesses, amazing friendships, sound health, flourishing finance, lovely personal brand, progressive ministry, while impacting the world in your unique way and leaving behind a rich and sound legacy.
Yes, you can have it all without dropping any of the balls. Thank God for great examples.
My mum was the first person to make me realize this. I remember when she'd bring up furthering my studies and I'd tease her by saying I want to marry and have children...lol. She'd tell me, times without numbers, that marriage doesn't stop me from advancing my studies.
Even though I was pulling her legs with that statement, her response has done something to my mentality for life. One day she even told me to bring my children to her if I ever need to do so...lol.
So even from a young age, I believed I could have it all and thrive effortlessly.
And it's the same with you. You're no different. This is why you're reading this post at a time like this. To let you know that what you desire is possible and you have examples. Enough examples. Examples of women who are succeeding in every area you can think of.
You know, when you see someone living a life you know you could be living, you immediately get attracted.
Nurture that attraction and learn from them. There's a reason you notice them particularly, out of all the other people you have access to.
Even if you don't have them around you in real life, you can still learn from their examples. Thank God for technology and the internet. You can 'meet' many women and be inspired to run your race without getting tired or discouraged.
First, follow them on various social media platforms and consume the content they share…you'll find life lessons there...
You can also interact with their resources...books, podcasts, blogs, vlogs...the fastest way to meet a mentor is through their books.
You can take it a step further and become part of their communities, subscribe to their email lists, buy their courses, join their clubs, enroll in their mastermind classes...
Then, connect with people that have those potentials you admire. Those that smell and look like the Ibukun Awosika of your time, the Just Ibe of your time, the Victoria Orenze of your time…
Mama Joyce Meyer will never be in your age group, but you have a potential Joyce Meyer somewhere around you…
Connect with her and grow together. You don't know, but you're actually keeping your fire lit.
Being around people with similar vibes ensures your vision never runs short of fuel. They somehow always fuel your vision by being themselves and doing their assignments.
Being in a tribe that matches your vibe is such a big deal. Treat it as such.
I remember I said in my last post that I'll let you in on some of the women that inspire me from a distance. No, I didn't forget. They are a lot and for this post, I'll just mention one or two per category.
Deal?
Disclaimer: I don't have access to the behind-the-scenes of their lives and so I'm oblivious and don't care about any imperfections. I admire and I'm influenced by what I see online and that's enough for me.
That said, we're ready for the unveiling.
Marriage and Ministry. I grouped these two categories together because the woman I want to write about surfaced in the two categories and I don't want it to look like I repeated her name.
Pastor Mildred Kingsley Okonkwo. I've been on her mailing list for about 7 years now. Her blog is all shades of amazing. I learn every time from it, even when I read previous posts. It's that good.
Check out her blog here: www.justusgirlsnaija.com
I'm also subscribed to her YouTube channel, following her on Instagram, Facebook, and have read some of her books.
Personal Development: Pastor Debola Deji-Kurunmi aka DDK.
Following her on IG, subscribed to her blog, and was coached by her last year in her signature course for women; Immerse. That course propelled my evolution. I've not had time to write about all I learned, 'cos it's a whole lot and I want to apply them first.
This is how I felt during Immerse, seriously.
I had almost 4 notebooks filled, guys. Immerse was indescribable. I remember telling a friend that I was doing my 'masters in personal development' as I interacted with the courses. And that was the term I used to label the books I used for the course, cos I'm yet to find a better name. DDK comes with fire, always!
Finances: Mrs. Ibukun Awosika.
I started listening to her in 2020, courtesy of my sister. Her sermons on business and entrepreneurship have saved my soul and set me right.
Also, Mrs. Sola Adesakin.
Following on Twitter, planning to join her investment club ASAP. I 'met' her when I took DDK's Immerse course last year. She's an amazing financial coach.
Health and Fitness: Mrs. Eziaha Bolaji-Olojo aka Coach E'.
I love this woman eh. She's like an elder sister God made me discover on the net. I've been subscribed to her email list for 7 years too, I read everything she posts, even old posts. Most of my book recommendations are from her blogs. (she writes three blogs, talk about being amazing) I'm also subscribed to her YouTube channel. She's not on IG for now. I'd have been stalking her there too. lol
eziaha.com is the link to one of her blogs.
Personal Brand: Tolu Micheals.
Tolu Micheals teaches you to show up. Like, just show up with whatever you're doing and keep showing up. Don't wait till everything is perfect, don't wait till you achieve everything, just SHOW UP!
Waiting for things to be perfect just elongates your procrastination. You learn on the journey and you become better. But how will this even happen if you don't take the first step by showing up?
Tolulope Solutions.
I like the way she shares her journey. She's a YouTuber, brand influencer, and Instagram celeb. I've bought land on her channel, and I have a room in her IG list.
Her videos are my major distractions when I'm on YouTube, I end up watching 2 or 5 when I'm there for something else. The good thing is that I learn from them, so we can call it a good distraction.
She shares a lot from her life, experience, and assignments while keeping Jesus as the ultimate message. Now, that's something you want to check out, right?
I can't remember how long I've 'known' her and how I got to know her but I want you to know her if you don't. You're welcome.
Friendship and Association: Heather Lindsey.
Heather is my all-time favorite foreign teacher, pastor, and pastor's wife. My first contact with her was on the matter of friendship. There's something she said/wrote that has been with me for years and has been a guide to how I choose friends and grant them access to my life.
"You can minister to all but fellowship with a few"...I'm not sure I quoted it verbatim, but that's the summary.
What it means is that you can and should relate well with everyone you come in contact with (ministering) but keep a relationship with a few (fellowship)
See eh, this statement is a permanent resident in my heart. I've scrutinized my relationships by this and it has helped me a lot.
I understand that there are many good people in my class, school, church, etc but I can't keep up a relationship with everyone, no matter how good they are, 'cos being good doesn't mean good for me and that isn't even about me being selective, much like knowing my tribe.
I also know that I can fellowship with different people on different levels. I don't have to pressure anyone into being a certain kind of friend.
Heather teaches great things about friendship and I've learnt greatly. I follow her on IG mostly.
Morenike Molehin.
She was one of the mentors at Immerse and she taught about three courses on this subject. I'm not following her actively yet, but I 'check up on her' once in a while via IG, especially 'cos of her business. She's into interior decor and that's another thing I love. Let's not even begin with my love for that today.
Business: Olori Boye Ajayi (OBA)
First, I'll have you know that OBA is from Delta state. My love for her went a notch higher when I found out.
OBA is a business guru. I'm on her mailing list and I follow her on IG.
Stomach affairs:
What better note to end this post than in the kitchen? So I love good food and I love to cook. I'm that girl that doesn't count bread and butter as food o, whatever happened to fufu and afang soup?
Growing up, when I started to cook outside the box, I had a cookbook or food journal where I'd write down recipes I'd love to try. And when I tried them, I'd go back to tick with so much joy in my heart like I won a medal.
Thinking back now, I sure deserve a medal. Those were days where I wasn't conversant with Youtube, just Google and so I had only written instructions and not videos to guide my foodventure and they still turned out nice. At least 80% of them.
Sisi Jemima and sisi Yemie's blogs schooled me back in the days. Nowadays though, I watch more of YouTube and Instagram videos by Ify's kitchen and Iqfoodplatter.
Chef Ify is a chef, lawyer, mum of twin toddlers, and brand influencer. It's how she juggles them all and still teaches us new stuff for me.
Next up is Mrs. Iquo Ukoh of IQ Food Platter.
She doesn't get her ideas from the natural, quote me anywhere. I have plenty of screenshots from her page. She cooks really amazing stuff. For me, my first question is usually; how did this woman think of this combo? Omo, there are levels.
Remember I said I was gonna stick with two women per category, there are a lot more women doing great things and making Jesus proud.
One thing you'll notice about all these women is that even if they are known for one aspect of life generally, and even though I have categorized them like that as well, they all teach lessons in all spheres of life. And one woman leads you to another and another...it's like a cascade of events.
Now, why did I go through the pains of writing this? To flaunt my knowledge or brag about it?
Hell no!
Come closer, this should be whispered…
From a woman to a woman, I'm sure this post stirred something in you. And you're being propelled to reach for more. Please do. You can see the possibilities in Christ. Of how you can be all God has called you to be and succeed in every area.
Let this post remind you, first to keep your eyes on Jesus, and next, to never forget that you have examples. Set your eyes and heart on your Maker and learn from these women.
You are more and can be more…
Don't settle for safe
Don't get comfortable with less
Strive for more..
There are a lot more areas of life and women I learn from that I didn't even mention. These women I mentioned should do for this particular post. It'd get really lengthy if I continue. But we can make this your assignment.
Now, how about you go discover them yourself, and let me know in the comments section?
I'll love to hear who your favorite women are...you have the comments section now.
Cheers to being inspired by women and inspiring other women...
Love and Light,
Nancita✨
PS: I think this is the longest post I've written here so far...isn't this the love for women we're talking about? π€©π€©
